A CASHIER of a local bank accused of allegedly stealing about P736,100 in cash from the bank’s vault on Saturday was arrested in Cuyapo, Nueva Ecija.
Arrested was a 25-year-old bachelor, assigned as cashier at the Producers Bank-Cuyapo branch, of Bgy. Bantug in Cuyapo.
According to Police head Lt. Col. Erwin V. Ferry, the suspect was arrested following a complaint filed by Lovelyn Malibiran, assistant vice president and regional head of Producer’s Bank.
The arrested suspect was accused of carting away cash from the bank’s vault amounting to P736,100.
Hermie Nartates, the reliever-cashier of the bank, discovered that the amount was missing following an audit.
Police recovered from the suspect some P40,000 in cash.
Charges of qualified theft are being readied for inquest-filing against the arrested suspect.
