A HIGH-RANKING Mongolian official who is wanted in his home country for corruption offenses was arrested and deported by the Bureau of Immigration.
Immigration Intelligence chief Fortunato Manahan Jr. identified the Mongolian fugitive as Tunjin Badamjunai, 67.
Badamjunai was arrested last April 4.
“We were initially informed by Mongolian authorities that Badamjunai will be in Cebu City,” Manahan said.
BI agents arrested the Mongolian following a mission order issued by Immigration Commissioner Norman Tansingco.
“The Mongolian government cancelled his passport, rendering him undocumented,” added Manahan.
Badamjunai was deported the same night he was arrested.
