LOUD mufflers are now banned in the city of Cavite.
The prohibition on noisy pipes or mufflers in the city is based on City Ordinance 2022-3381 authored by councilor Eduardo Novero Jr, chairman of the Committee on Transportation.
The ordinance prohibits the use of loud exhausts or open pipes on motorcycles within the city.
Violators will be fined P2,000 for the 1st offense, P3,000 for the 2nd offense, and P5,000 for the 3rd offense for the motorcycle unit owner and establishment or store owners selling modified mufflers.
The store will also face revocation of its business permit.
Cavite City Mayor Denver Chua said the city police and members of the Public Safety and Traffic Bureau are designated to implement the ordinance.
