CHR , mag-iimbestiga sa pagdakip ng PNP sa isang doctor

NALALAPIT na ang imbestigasyon ng Commission on Human Rights (CHR) ukol sa pagkakadakip sa isang doctor noong nakaraang Sabado sa San Juan City na pinaratangan umanong miyembro umano ng New Peoples Army .
Ayon kay kay CHR chairperson Leah Armamento,bubusisiin ng kanilang mga abogadong imbestigador ang legalidad sa ginawang pagdakip ng Philippine National Police (PNP) sa 53-anyos na si Dr. Maria Natividad Castro na nahaharap sa kasong kidnap at serious illegal detention kaugnay ng isang insidente sa Caraga region taong 2018.
Dagdag pa ni Armamento, sisilipin nila ang paraan ng pag-aresto kay Castro na tumatayong secretary-general ng grupong Karapatan sa Caraga.
“There’s an allegation that some policemen were not in uniform, they weren’t properly identified and the force employed is more than what is required.
We’re looking into this, whether the arresting officers followed the rule of procedure,” aniya sa isang panayam sa telebisyon.
“We can file charges, administrative or criminal, against erring police officers.” Una nang napaulat na dinukot si Castro noong nakaraang Biyernes, subalit natunton ng CHR sa Butuan City kung saan napag-alamang nakapiit si Castro.
“The CHR is continuously monitoring so that no harm or violation of human rights is being committed. If she needs lawyers, the CHR also provides legal assistance,” dagdag pa ng opisyal
