TOP officers of the Police Regional Office 3 heeded the call of Interior and Local Government Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr. for a courtesy resignation to cleanse the Philippine National Police of scalawags, particularly those involved in illegal drugs.
According to Central Luzon police director Brig. Gen. Cesar Pasiwen, all the two police generals and 23 colonels assigned in the region complied with Abalos’ appeal.
“We strongly support the call of the SILG (Secretary of the Interior and Local Government) and we are 100% compliant with the courtesy resignation. This is also part of the internal cleansing program, and as high-ranking officers we should adhere and be examples to our subordinates,” Pasiwen said.
Pasiwen said that in filing the courtesy resignation, the country’s police officers will regain the trust of the public.
“We see this as an opportunity to regain public trust as we submit ourselves to scrutiny,” the Central Luzon top cop said.
Earlier, Abalos called on all full-pledged generals and colonels to submit their courtesy resignation to cleanse the institution of those involved in illegal drugs.
