The Civil Service Commission (CSC) announced yesterday that it will implement a permanent 4-day work week schedule for all government agencies even after the COVID-19 pandemic.
CSC Commissioner Aileen A. Lizada stated that they have already consulted academics and other agencies, including the Department of Information and Communications Technology and National Privacy Commission on the new work arrangement.
Lizada added that aside from the 4-day work week, the commission is also looking for other alternative work arrangements, such as the work-from-home scheme.
“The commission is scheduled to meet on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, to finalize the target date of the new work arrangement”, Lizada added.In 2020, the CSC urged government agencies to adopt alternative work arrangements due to the COVID-19 pandemic such as a 4-day work week, shifting hours.
