CAMP GENERAL MIGUEL MALVAR, Batangas – Police on Friday arrested a 65-year-old man after the service of a search warrant in his house yields various types of guns, ammunition, and bags of gunsmith tools in Sto. Tomas City, Batangas..
Arrested was Danilo “Danny” Garcia, a resident of Bgy. San Joaquin, Sto Tomas City.
According to the report of Batangas Police Provincial Director Col. Samson Belgica Belmonte to Police Regional Office 4A (Calabarzon) Director Brig. Gen. Carlito M. Gazes, the suspect was nabbed by members of the Sto. Tomas City Police Station at 8:30 p.m. on Friday by virtue of a search warrant issued for the violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
Seized were one improvised cal .22 rifle, another cal. .22 rifle, an improvised shotgun, a cal..45 caliber rifle, an improvised pistolized shotgun, a cal. .38 pistol, one cal. .22 revolver and one improvised cal. .22 pistol, one cal. .22 handgun and another cal. .38 revolver, four magazines for cal. .22 and 9mm, five pieces of rifle bat, an improvised shotgun, a rifle bolt, a lower receiver, and two rifle barrels for cal.. 22, six assorted improvised suppressors, 16 bullets for cal..45 and cal. .22, bullets for super 38, ammunition for cal. .380, plastic container containing assorted parts of firearms, a styro box containing gunsmith tools and assorted parts of firearms such as springs, stabilizers, and firing pins.
Belmonte warned individuals who are in possession of guns without proper documents.
“We strictly prohibit the possession and carrying of weapons without proper documents. Please contact the nearest police station to surrender the weapons without a License to Own and Possess Firearms,” the Batangas top cop said.
