The COVID 19 pandemic, without a doubt, exposed and stirred fears about food security
and changing the world in unprecedented ways. In the Philippines, widespread lockdowns
possess a challenge in securing food due to shortages. The DOST- Philippine Council for
Agriculture,
Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-
PCAARRD) initiative called GALING-PCAARRD Kontra COVID-19 Program which offers
technologies from various R&D outputs ultimately aimed to help alleviate hunger during this
COVID-19 pandemic outbreak.
Last 28 January 2022, the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Angono, Rizal supported
ANNFA through purchasing all of their fresh harvests and produce at the Hillsdale, Angono,
Rizal. This is also to support the farmers’ endeavor to meet food and income security for
the community.
