Maritime security ensured for annual feast of ‘Black Nazarene’

AS the annual celebration of the Feast of the Black Nazarene draws near, Coast Guard Station Malacañang takes proactive measures to ensure the safety and security of all devotees by deploying a comprehensive maritime security plan along the Pasig River vicinity.

Recognizing the significance of this revered event and the immense congregation expected, Coast Guard Malacañang spearheads a strategic deployment of maritime assets to safeguard devotees participating in this sacred occasion.

A total of 3 High-Speed Response Boats, 4 Small Boats, 2 Jet Skis, and 3 Boat Platforms from the Philippine Coast Guard have been deployed, supplementing the security efforts. In collaboration with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), an additional 1 Ferry Boat and 4 Speed Boats have been stationed strategically to enhance safety measures along the river.

Moreover, the Philippine Red Cross has generously contributed to the efforts by deploying 3 Floating Assets to assist in ensuring the safety and security of all participants throughout the celebration.

In total, a fleet of 18 maritime security and safety floating assets have been positioned strategically along the Pasig River, underscoring the commitment of Coast Guard  Malacañang, in conjunction with the Philippine Coast Guard NCR-CL, MMDA, and the Philippine Red Cross, to prioritize the safety and security of devotees during this momentous event.

The Feast of the Black Nazarene holds immense cultural and religious significance for our nation. the collective efforts aim to provide a secure environment for all devotees partaking in this spiritual occasion. 

The PCG urges all participants and attendees to cooperate with the deployed authorities, adhere to safety protocols, and remain vigilant throughout the event. This collaborative effort underscores the commitment to ensuring a peaceful and secure celebration of the Feast of the Black Nazarene.
