POLICE Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr. yesterday announced the surrender of four former rebels to Tarlac police.
Three ex-Anakpawis members and a former Militia ng Bayan member surrendered to the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company Headquarters in Bgy. Malacampa, Camiling, Tarlac.
Personnel of the 2nd PMFC, together with other concerned police units, facilitated the surrender of the four.
“Ka Libreng,” a former member of KLG-TARZAM (Militia ng Bayan), turned in a cal. .38 revolver, four cal. .38 live bullets and one 40mm high explosive.
Three members of Anakpawis identified only as “Ka Ser,” “Ka Rico,” and “Ka Tisoy” withdrew their support to the communist terror group and turned in one 40mm high explosive.
Hidalgo said the continuous local peace engagement activities of the Philippine National Police, in support to the NTF-ELCAC, made the rebels become aware of the government’s program and the opportunity to correct their mistakes.
