POLICE Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Cesar Pasiwen on Friday led his men in signing a courtesy resignation for a clean Philippine National Police.
The move was in support to the call of Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos Jr. for all full-fledged police colonels and generals in the country to submit a courtesy resignation as part of the government’s fight against rogues in uniform, particularly those involved in illegal drugs.
According to Pasiwen, this is the chance for all police officials to clear their names and prove that they are supporting the internal cleansing program, as well as the transformation of the PNP organization.
“The entire PRO3 personnel are giving their all-out support to our Secretary of the Interior and Local Government and our Philippine National Police chief in their call for genuine internal cleansing program,” Pasiwen said.
Also on Friday, PNP chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin urged all Central Luzon police officials, with the ranks of full-fledged colonel and generals, to support the call of Abalos Jr. for a courtesy resignation.
The appeal for a courtesy resignation was amid amid fears that high-ranking officials are already linked to the drug trade.
