THE entire Central Luzon police force is all set to implement the public safety campaign for the summer holiday season dubbed “Ligtas SumVac 2023,” Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr. announced yesterday.
“I gave directives to all provincial and city directors to ensure the safe and secure travel of motorists and commuters this Lenten season and summer vacation. As a matter of fact, we will be deploying more than 1,000 personnel in the region starting April 1,” Hidalgo said.
The Central Luzon top cop said police visibility will be intensified through increased foot and mobile patrols and established Police Assistance Desks/Centers (PADs/Cs).
“Also, road safety marshals are being deployed in convergence points, particularly in bus terminals, airports, seaports and recreational areas, including highways, main thoroughfares and crime prone areas to ensure maximum police presence, ” said Hidalgo.
He instructed all commanders to coordinate with local government units, non-government organizations, and other government entities and volunteer groups in establishing Police Assistance Desks/Centers and in deploying Road Safety Marshalls for a collaborative delivery of public safety services and assistance.
He warned that criminal elements may take advantage of people converging in places such as beach and other tourist destinations for relaxation and recreation.
“I am calling for the cooperation of the public to prevent any crime in the community by providing authorities relevant and timely information through PRO3 hotline 0998-5985330/ 0917- 5562597 and social media ( facebook PioThreeProOlivas /PIORegionThree),” he said.
According to Hidalgo, SumVac 2023″ will remain in effect from April 1 until May 31.
