AN incumbent town councilor running for mayor of Padre Burgos, Quezon gave himself up to the police in connection with his estafa case.
Town police commander Capt. Florante Mahinay said councilor Hackett Pasia, 35, immediately surrendered to the police after learning that a warrant for his arrest has been issued by Padre Burgos Municipal Trial Court, Fourth Judicial Region Judge Ingrid Ann Bermido.
In his report to Quezon police director Col. Joel Villanueva, Mahinay said Pasia earlier coordinated to the police station and expressed his willingness to yield.
The councilor was eventually freed after posting bail in the amount of P18,000.
Pasia, nephew of former mayor Romeo Pasia, is running against incumbent Mayor Ruben Diokno and former vice mayor Pablito Flores.
