THE government of Misamis Occidental has granted a rebel returnee P500,000 cash as part of its program to end insurgency and conflict in the province.
Gov. Henry Oaminal said the courageous return of alias “Cesar” was another win for the province’ peace and order initiatives.
He said it was in line with the local government units “5Ms” or the “Misamisnon, Magpuyong, Malinawon, Malambuon ug Malipayon” approach.
Oaminal personally handed the cash assistance during a simple ceremony, along with Philippine Army led by MGen. Antonio Nafarette, 10th Infantry Battalion Commanding Officer Jose Andre Monje, and the 102nd Infantry Brigade Commander Col. Elmer Scudero.
“In granting him our assistance, we aim to send a message to other rebels that they, too, can return to the fold of the law anytime, and live in harmony with our countrymen,” the governor said.
One of Oaminal’s flagship initiatives for the province, “5Ms,” is seen to find an end the insurgency and conflict in Misamis Occidental.
“Cesar’s courageous return to our community is another win for Misamis Occidental’s peace and order initiatives,” the governor said.
