PRISON officers at the Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm (IPPF) in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan destroyed
the prohibited items and other contraband seized during the past operations at the prison.
Among those destroyed were cellular phones, pocket Wi-Fi devices, chargers, sim cards, playing cards, improvised knives, and other unauthorized articles prohibited within the prison premises that were voluntarily surrendered or seized during the conduct of “Oplan Galugad.”
The main objective of the operations was to prevent violence among the incarcerated individuals at the IPPF.
Persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) who violated the Prison Rules and Regulations will face administrative charges before the Board of Discipline.
By taking strong measures to confiscate and destroy prohibited items, the authorities aim to maintain order and security within the prison facilities and ensure the safety of both staff and prisoners.
