THE local government unit of Silang in Cavite and the Catholic church will attempt the longest line of candles lit in relay for the Guinness World Record on January 22 as part of the celebration of the Feast of Nuestra Señora de Candelaria Parish.
According to Silang Mayor Kevin Anarna, they will seek for the first time the longest line of candle lit in relay that will start in the historic church of Silang in the town proper to the new municipal hall grounds in Bgy. Biga 1.
The volunteers, who are employed in the municipality, started rehearsing for the first Guinness World Record attempt.
“Together with our Church, let’s come together on January 22nd, at 6:00 p.m. for the queue of people holding candles. Our town will be better known, not only in the whole Philippines but also in the whole world, ‘ Anarna said in his social media post.
Part of the celebration will be the Talentadong Silangeno on January 29, and Silang Music Festival on February 3, featuring the Side A band, Jeloy Pilones and the Mayonaise to be held at the new municipal hall grounds.
