To familiarize the beneficiaries of the hollow blocks production enterprise from the
Municipalities of Laurel, Agoncillo and San Nicolas on the hollow blocks production
technology, equipment and production mechanism, a benchmarking activity at ADHIKA
Producers Cooperative’s Concrete Hollow Blocks Production Facility, Brgy. Dacanlao,
Calaca, Batangas was conducted, Feb. 08.
The benchmarking activity serves as a prelude to DOST’s initiative of establishing a
community enterprise focused on the production of hollow blocks. Aside from the
production technology, equipment and production mechanism, best practices of the host
cooperative in running their hollow blocks production enterprise were shared and discussed
to the beneficiaries. The host cooperative is a DOST GIA CBP beneficiary focused on
concrete hollow block production.
Aside from the beneficiaries, focal persons from the three municipalities and DOST
Batangas staff headed by Provincial Director Felina C. Malabanan partook the activity.
The establishment of these community hollow blocks production enterprises aims to help
rebuild the socio-economic state of the abovementioned municipalities affected by Taal
eruption in 2020. This project is under the “Community Empowerment thru Science and
Technology (CEST) for Disaster-Stricken Areas in Batangas Province”.
