POLICE arrested a man accused of burning his 3-month-old nephew to death in their rented room in Cainta, Rizal.
Suspect John Melvin Caino was arrested in Bulacan.
The gruesome murder occurred at Rm. 102, Basilio Room for Rent, Sampaguita St. Ampalaya Compound, Sitio Halang, Bgy. San Isidro, Cainta, Rizal,
Neighbors told probers that at 10:30 a.m. on Monday they saw the suspect left the brother of the baby to a neighbor with his belongings.
The neighbors, knowing that there was a baby left in the room, checked on the tot from the window and saw him on the bed not moving, with the head covered with a blanket.
The neighbors forcibly opened the door and found the infant lifeless, with bruises and burnt wounds.
They quickly sought the help of the village officials and the police.
Neighbors said the baby and the infant’s brother were left under the care of Caino while their mother reports for work.
