AUTHORITIES at the Davao International Airport on Sunday arrested a 59-year-old woman for making a bomb joke.
Arrested was Annabell Macose, of Pangasinan, said Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines spokesperson Eric Apolonio based on a report by Davao International Airport manager Rex Obcena.
Macose, who was aboard a departing aircraft Cebu Pacific Flight 5J97, with 221 passengers, delivered a joke about a bomb.
The joke caused the flight delay.
Alert aircraft personnel requested security assistance from the PNP-Aviation Security Unit personnel
Security forces, accompanied by airline agents, arrested Macose and turned her over to the Sasa police for further investigation.
The rest of the passengers were deplaned and the aircraft was repositioned to a designated isolation bay, where all checked-in baggage and hand carried items were re-screened as part of security protocol.
The plane was scheduled to depart Davao to Manila around 6:45 p.m. last Sunday.
After satisfactorily ensuring the safety of the aircraft, the flight proceeded to its destination and departed the airport at 9:11 pm. of the same day.
