BAGONG Henerasyon Party-list urged President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to focus on governance and concrete results in his fifth State of the Nation Address (SONA), emphasizing “less politics, more governance.”
Rep. Robert Nazal called for a clear economic roadmap that includes attracting investments, creating higher-paying jobs, lowering electricity costs, supporting micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), empowering the youth through education and skills training, strengthening regulations on online gambling, promoting good governance, and maintaining fiscal discipline.
He also stressed that taxpayers deserve better public services and urged reforms that will improve investor confidence and economic growth.
Meanwhile, Party-list Chairperson Bernadette Herrera called for stronger social welfare measures, including efforts to reduce the cost of living, fully implement healthcare laws, and expand support for solo parents and persons with disabilities (PWDs).
Herrera also opposed new taxes, urging the government to improve revenue collection instead, while promoting transparency, accountability, and the use of AI and blockchain technology to strengthen governance and curb corruption. She said these reforms reflect the kind of leadership and future Filipinos deserve.
