
LAGUNA Governor Sol Aragones personally reached out to families displaced by Typhoon Opong, distributing hot meals and food packs in evacuation centers across Bay and Santa Cruz amid strong winds and heavy rains.
Her message was clear: the provincial government stands as a steady hand of care and support in times of crisis.
More than 230 families, or almost 1,000 individuals, received immediate relief from the Provincial Government of as Governor Sol Aragones led food distribution in evacuation centers in Bay and Santa Cruz.
In Brgy. Duhat, Santa Cruz, families staying at the Pilot Evacuation Center were provided free breakfast and food packs, with Mayor Benjo Agarao accompanying Gov. Aragones to check on the condition of residents.
Meanwhile, in Brgy. Tagumpay, Bay, evacuees also received assistance. Governor Aragones offered words of assurance, “Sa panahon ng bagyo, narito ang inyong ina na handang umakay. Pagpasensyahan nyo na ang munting handog sa inyo ng Probinsya ng Laguna. Mag-ingat kayong lahat.”
Camp Manager Laarni Fernandez of Tagumpay Elementary School shared that some evacuees have been staying since July due to earlier flooding. She expressed gratitude for the provincial government’s efforts: “Malaking tulong po ang pinamamahagi na pagkain at relief goods sa amin. Maraming-maraming salamat po Gob Sol.”
As of now, the southern part of Laguna remains under Signal No. 3 because of typhoon Opong while the rest of the province is under Signal No. 2. Despite the challenges, Gov. Aragones vowed continued support for affected Lagunenses, highlighting that no family will be left behind during this crisis.
