THE Central Luzon Media Association (CLMA) Olongapo-Zambales Chapter, led by its president Dante Salvaña of the SBMA Corporate Communications Group, conducted its annual mangrove planting activity at the mangrove area along Binictican Drive, Subic Bay Freeport Zone (SBFZ).
The event forms part of CLMA’s initiatives in celebration of its 47th founding anniversary, highlighting the organization’s continuing commitment to environmental protection and community engagement.
Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) Chairman and Administrator Engr. Eduardo Jose L. Aliño, together with SBMA Director Ted del Rosario, expressed gratitude to the media group for supporting the agency’s environmental efforts.
Aliño said the mangrove planting activity complements SBMA’s long-term program to make Subic Bay the first carbon-neutral freeport in the country by 2030.
“We deeply appreciate the CLMA for joining us in this advocacy. Initiatives like this contribute to our mission of addressing climate change and protecting the planet for future generations,” Aliño said.
The activity underscores the vital role of media organizations and civic groups in promoting environmental awareness and sustainable development within the Subic Bay Freeport and nearby communities.
