SUBIC, Zambales — Students of Kolehiyo ng Subic will now benefit from improved learning facilities following the official inauguration and turnover of four newly constructed classrooms, aimed at addressing the school’s growing student population and strengthening the quality of education it provides.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by Deputy Speaker and 1st District Representative Jay Khonghun and witnessed by key college officials, including Jonathan Khonghun, Mayor of Subic and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, as well as Rosely Agustin, College President, alongside faculty members and students.
According to Khonghun, the additional classrooms respond to the steady increase in enrollment from Subic and neighboring municipalities served by the college.
The expansion is expected to enhance campus facilities and further elevate the standard of education offered to students.
Khonghun emphasized that the project forms part of his legislative efforts to prioritize and strengthen the education sector across the First District of Zambales.
In his speech, he expressed gratitude to his father, Jeffrey D. Khonghun, former Subic mayor and current mayor of Castillejos, who led the establishment of Subic College in 2002.
He added that Mayor Jon Khonghun continues the mission of further developing and improving the institution for future generations.
“Ang ating pagtahak sa landas na ito ay hindi naging madali. Marami tayong dinaanang pagsubok, ngunit dahil sa pagmamahal natin sa mga estudyante, sa Kolehiyo ng Subic at sa kinabukasan ng ating mga anak na ating inaalagaan, patuloy nating ilalaban ang pagpapabuti ng KNS upang lalo pa itong gumanda at makatulong sa buhay ng mga mamamayan,” Khonghun said.
Meanwhile, officials of Kolehiyo ng Subic assured their continued collaboration with various government agencies to implement programs that will further promote accessible and quality education for the youth of Subic and nearby communities.
