SANTA CRUZ, LAGUNA — A NEW lifeline for kidney patients in Laguna will officially open on December 8, 2025, as the Laguna Medical Center (LMC) unveils its free Dialysis Center, a major healthcare initiative made possible through a public-private partnership spearheaded by the Provincial Government of Laguna under Governor Sol Aragones.
Equipped with 14 dialysis machines, the new facility can accommodate nearly 56 patients every week, offering unlimited and completely free treatments for qualified Lagunenses. Governor Aragones personally inspected the center today, November 12, 2025, joined by Dr. Odilon Inoncillo of the Provincial Health Office and former Department of Health Undersecretary Dr. Eric Tayag.
The establishment of the LMC Dialysis Center reflects the provincial government’s strong commitment to bringing essential health services closer to communities, especially to those who cannot afford the high cost of long-term kidney treatment. The initiative also aims to lessen the travel and financial burden on patients who previously needed to seek dialysis in distant hospitals or private clinics.
The Dialysis Center will operate from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with patients required to submit their treatment plan and maintain active PhilHealth membership to avail of the services.
“Don’t worry libre po lahat ito. Dito po unlimited ang dialyzer filter,” said Dr. Inoncillo, assuring that all services will be free of charge.
Governor Aragones emphasized the importance of PhilHealth membership for continued access to government health programs. “Walang bayad po ha, tandaan nyo libre yan,” she said, reiterating that the program aims to ease the financial burden of dialysis treatment.
The newly rehabilitated LMC building now offers a brighter and more comfortable space for patients and staff. Health workers expressed their excitement, noting that it has been since 2023 when the hospital last operated a dialysis center.
Governor Aragones also shared that dialysis centers in Pakil, Cabuyao, and Bay are in development and will soon open. “Kapag ho may nagpabayad sa inyo, sumbong nyo sa amin, dahil walang bayad, dapat libre,” she reminded, underscoring the government’s commitment to transparency and patient protection.
The opening of the LMC Dialysis Center marks another milestone in Laguna’s efforts to strengthen healthcare through public-private partnerships, ensuring that no Lagunense is left behind in receiving life saving treatment
