DEPARTMENT of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Juanito Victor “Jonvic” Remulla Jr. commended the First District of Zambales for its consistent and effective implementation of programs and projects that directly benefit local communities.
During a meeting with Deputy Speaker and Zambales First District Representative Jay Khonghun, Subic Mayor Jonathan “Jon” Khonghun, Castillejos Mayor Jeffrey Khonghun, and Zambales Vice Governor Jacqueline Rose Khonghun, Remulla recognized the Khonghun family’s strong and commendable record in public service.
The DILG chief announced that additional mobile patrol units will be allocated to the district’s police force to further strengthen peace and order initiatives.
He emphasized that the discipline and sound governance demonstrated by local officials merit increased national government support to bolster community security.
The discussion also covered the provision of additional firefighting equipment for the Bureau of Fire Protection and solutions to address facility shortages of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP).
Remulla likewise expressed full support for Rep. Khonghun’s proposal to construct a new BJMP building and a covered court at Camp Cabal in Barangay Barretto—projects expected to enhance public safety services and improve community facilities.
Meanwhile, Secretary Remulla is set to visit Zambales in March to personally reaffirm and strengthen the DILG’s continuing support for the province.
