ALBAY 2nd District Representative Joey Salceda hailed the latest inflation figures, calling the 0.9% food and beverage inflation “very good news” for Filipino consumers.
“This gives the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) plenty of room to reduce interest rates, which is beneficial for people with home loans and for businesses relying on credit,” Salceda said.
He added that the improved inflation outlook helps shield the country from the impact of unstable U.S. tariff policies and retaliatory trade measures worldwide.
“I also expect some positive movement in the equities market. Foreign buying has picked up in anticipation of good inflation numbers, and I foresee continued investor confidence as the Philippine economy proves more resilient than expected,” Salceda added.
