
The Department of Health Ilocos Region today disclosed a total of 21,566 children aged 5-11 years old received their first dose of Covid vaccine during the week long “Bayanihan, Bakunahan – Kids ang Bida” held from February 14- 18, 2022.
Regional Director Paula Paz M. Sydiongco said that the pediatric vaccination will continue to be conducted in designated vaccination sites until all target children has been given their first dose of Pfizer vaccine.
The regional office targeted 25K out of the total 73,133 children aged 5-11 years old in region 1.
Pangasinan province has the most number of vaccinated children with 8,922 followed by Ilocos Norte with 4,586 doses administered, Ilocos Sur with 3,835, La Union – 2,775 and Dagupan with 1,448.
Among the top five municipalities that recorded the most number of doses administered are Dingras, Ilocos Norte with 1,811 doses given followed by Urdaneta, Pangasinan – with 1,752 vaccines dsitributed, Laoag City, Ilocos Norte – 1,690, San Fernando City, La Union – 1,672 and Vigan City, Ilocos Sur with 1,550.
“Sa mga magulang na may anak na edad 5-11 years old ay magpunta lamang sa pinakamalapit na vaccination site sa inyong lugar. Tuluy-tuloy po ang pamimigay ng bakuna sa mga bata. Ito po ay safe, libre at makapagbibigay ng proteksiyon laban sa Covid virus.”
