
City of Batac – The four-month-old baby who was seriously injured when a large Acacia tree fell over their house in Barangay Sagpatan, Dingras, Ilocos Norte during the onslaught of Typhoon “Neneng” now out-of-danger with improved condition.
The baby was admitted at the Surgical Intensive Care Unit of the Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center (MMM&MC) in Batac City on October 16, 2022 at the height of the typhoon.
According to MMM&MC, the baby was immediately given treatment. He suffered injuries on his face and feet.
Medical Center Chief Dr. Maria Lourdes K. Otayza said that the baby was safely and successful discharged on Tuesday, October 18, 2022.
The MMM&MC and Malasakit Center provided financial support including hospitalization expenses and food subsidy during the baby’s confinement.
Psychological first aid was also conducted to the baby’s parents and immediate family by Medical Social Workers of the hospital.
