FORMER “Tawag ng Tanghalan” contestant Ken Mariscal on Sunday was killed in a hit-and-run incident in Davao City.
Mariscal was the Mindanao contender for “Tawag ng Tanghalan” in 2018.
“Tawag ng Tanghalan” is a singing competition of the ABS-CBN noontime show It’s Showtime!
The victim, a passenger of a motorcycle driven by Ruben Borgonia, made a brief stop at Cabantian Road in Davao City to use a bathroom at 2:45 a.m. on Sunday.
Mariscal was trying to get off the motorcycle when he lost his balance and fell on the road.
A white vehicle passing by failed to see Mariscal on the road and ran over him.
He was rushed to Southern Philippines Medical Center, where he was declared dead on arrival.
Police are now hunting down the driver responsible for Mariscal’s death.
