
Sto. Tomas, Batangas – AS part of its 6th Cityhood Anniversary celebration themed “Unified City at 6,” the City of Sto. Tomas staged the Besteng Tomasino Gala on August 30, 2025, at the SM City Sto. Tomas Mall Atrium.
The fashion gala highlighted the creations of five homegrown designers, worn and presented by the candidates of Mutya ng Sto. Tomas and Ginoong Tomasino.
In her message, Mutya ng Sto. Tomas Chairperson Leilanie M. Escarez emphasized that the event’s aim was to showcase the creativity of local fashion designers while also discovering new talents to help revive the “patahian” and fashion industry in the city. “We are turning fashion into passion—and passion into purpose through the Fashion Gala for a Cause,” she said.

Proceeds from the event, raised through sponsorships, will benefit patients with cerebral palsy, one of the advocacies supported by Sto. Tomas City Mayor Atty. Arth Jhun Aguilar Marasigan.Escarez added, “Indeed, there is power in fashion, when we turn it into passion and when we turn it into purpose. Fashion is not all about feeling good; it is about empowering us to do good and make this world better.”
The program was attended by city officials led by Mayor Marasigan, who personally thanked the sponsors and participants. He also wore an ensemble designed by one of the featured local designers. City Vice Mayor Catherine Jaurigue-Perez, members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, department heads, sponsors, and the families of the Mutya and Ginoong Tomasino candidates were also present to show their support.
