LAOAG CITY — Ilocos Norte has taken a major step in digital governance after formally integrating the National ID Authentication Service (NIDAS) into the province’s Centralized Assistance Information System on January 27, in partnership with the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
The milestone makes Ilocos Norte the first provincial government in the country to link the National ID to a centralized assistance platform, enabling faster, more secure, and more accurate delivery of government aid.
PSA Deputy National Statistician Rosalinda P. Bautista said the integration highlights the National ID’s readiness to support large-scale digital systems, strengthening identity verification and preventing duplicate claims.
Governor Cecilia Araneta-Marcos said the move will simplify processes and ensure assistance reaches the right beneficiaries more quickly and efficiently.
Meanwhile, PSA Regional Director Atty. Sheila De Guzman announced that the PhilSys Fixed Registration Center will transfer to the new Dap-Ayan Center in Laoag City, while the Civil Registration Outlet will remain in San Nicolas.
Officials said the initiative reinforces Ilocos Norte’s push for secure, inclusive, and responsive digital public service.
