RESIDENTS and business owners in Quezon City can now receive free expert guidance on rooftop solar panel installation through QC Helpline 122, an initiative aimed at helping consumers lower electricity costs and promote the use of renewable energy.
By calling 122, QCitizens may consult licensed electrical engineers from the City Engineering Department on the proper size of solar panel systems, installation requirements, accredited solar providers, and permit applications.
Mayor Joy Belmonte said the program seeks to make solar energy more accessible by providing reliable technical assistance and helping residents avoid unlicensed or fraudulent installers.
The initiative supports the city’s renewable energy efforts, with seven City Hall buildings, three government hospitals, and 25 public schools already equipped with solar power systems. These facilities generated more than ₱8 million in electricity savings from January to June 2026.
According to the city government, widespread adoption of rooftop solar systems could significantly reduce electricity costs and contribute to a cleaner and more sustainable Quezon City.
