NINE people were injured by fireworks while welcoming year 2023 in Cavite.
According to Cavite Provincial Police Office Director Col Christopher Olazo, seven of the nine victims are from Rosario, Cavite.
They were identified as Phil Enrick Tengco, 31, a driver, of Bgy. Sapa 2, Rosario, Cavite; Agustina Buenviaje, 28, of Bgy. Ligtong 1, Rosario, Cavite; Christelle Reyes, 28; Chester Reyes, 24; and Chesley Reyes, 21, all of Bgy. Ligtong 3, Rosario, Cavite; Ricky Roy Barguin, 13, a student, of Bgy. Wawa 3, Rosario, Cavite; and Lance Ruie Sabturan, 10, also a student, of Bgy. Kanluran, Rosario, Cavite.
Meanwhile, two were injured by crackers in GMA, Cavite, including a 10-year-old student.
The two were John Mark De Guzman Placio, 19, of B13, L5, Tahanan Village, Bgy. San Gabriel and Junnie Dela Cruz , 10, of B21 Excess Lot, Bgy. Poblacion 5, in GMA.
The victims suffered burnt wounds and were rushed to different hospitals for treatment.
