THIS year’s Anilag Festival, known as the mother of all Laguna festivals, marks the first under Governor Sol Aragones and is being billed as the biggest and most ambitious celebration the province has ever staged, in keeping with its theme, Anilag Festival Level Up 2026.
“Anilag has always been about ani – the harvest of our labor, our culture, and our unity. By leveling up, we ensure that every generation knows where they came from and where they can go,” Governor Aragones declared in the vernacular.
She underscored the importance of a grand festival as a unifying celebration of resilience, while also uplifting culture and tradition.
In fact, Governor Aragones envisions Anilag as more than a festival, describing it as “a platform to bridge Laguna’s past and future.” Her “Level Up” theme aims to introduce innovations rooted in heritage, giving the festival a fresh, modern twist without losing touch with its cultural roots.
To kick off the festivities, the governor launched the Logo Making Contest for Anilag Festival Level Up 2026, offering a P20,000 grand prize along with consolation prizes for four other winners. True to her reputation for transparency and grassroots leadership, Governor Aragones ensures that every project, from conception to planning to implementation, is meticulously prepared before its final rollout.
The provincial capitol has started preparations early this year, with Laguna Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office (LTCATO) as the lead agency. The governor announced that although this year’s celebration may be shorter, it promises to be more colorful, meaningful, and memorable, scheduled from March 16 to 21.
A brief history, Anilag Festival, short for Ani ng Laguna, began in 2004 as a week-long thanksgiving for the province’s agricultural bounty. It brought together Laguna’s six cities and 24 municipalities under a single banner, celebrating unity, culture, and the province’s rich heritage.
This year, Anilag Level Up 2026 aims to expand that legacy, combining tradition with innovation. Beyond street dancing, cultural showcases, and parades, the festival will feature competitions in art, film, and digital media, giving the youth and creative minds a platform to showcase their talents. It’s not just a celebration it’s a statement that Laguna continues to grow, evolve, and honor its roots while embracing the future.
