THE Philippine Society for Microbiology, Inc. (PSM), in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology–CALABARZON (DOST-CALABARZON), will hold the 55th PSM Annual Convention and Scientific Meeting alongside the 9th Asia Pacific Biotechnology Congress on July 15–17, 2026, at the De La Salle University Laguna Campus in Biñan City, Laguna.
Carrying the theme, “Microbiology: Shaping the Future and Strengthening Planetary Resilience,” the joint international congress and annual scientific meeting aims to highlight the transformative role of microbiology and biotechnology in addressing some of today's most pressing global challenges, including public health, food security, environmental sustainability, and climate resilience.
The event is expected to gather approximately 300 to 400 participants from across the Philippines and the Asia-Pacific region, including scientists, researchers, educators, industry practitioners, policymakers, and students. It will serve as a platform for scientific exchange, research collaboration, and the sharing of innovative solutions that contribute to sustainable development and planetary resilience.
Participants can look forward to a dynamic program featuring plenary lectures and scientific sessions led by distinguished local and international experts, as well as oral and poster presentations showcasing emerging research in microbiology and biotechnology. Outstanding research contributions will also be recognized through the Best Paper Presentation and Best Poster Presentation awards.
The convention seeks to strengthen research linkages, foster innovation, and promote collaborative solutions that address regional and global challenges through science and technology.
