A MOTHER suspected to be high on drugs on Tuesday allegedly choked to death her 2-year-old son in their home in Bacoor City, Cavite.
A report submitted to Police Regional Office 4A Director Brig. Gen. Carlito M. Gaces identified the suspect as Rhina Maninang, 25, of Bgy. Talaba 1, Bacoor City while the victim was her son, Sam.
According to Sonny Gregorio, the victim’s father, he was shocked to see his son dead in their bedroom.
The victim’s elder brother told his father that he witnessed the klling.
An investigation showed the suspect is a drug user.
“Ginugutom at minamaltrato ng ina ang sariling mga anak, lalo kapag lulong sa droga,” a relative, whose name was withheld, told police.
Maninang is now detained at the Bacoor City jail facility, facing parricide charges.
