THE CIDG Western Samar Provincial Field Unit together with Catbalogan Municipal Police Station conducted a manhunt operation that resulted in the capture of a male fugitive in Brgy. 03, Catbalogan City, Samar by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest for Murder issued by Catbalogan City, Samar court on December 3, 2025.
A report that reached PMGen Robert Morico II, the Acting Director of the CIDG stated that the arrested accused “Mar”, male, 37 years old and resident of Brgy. Pangdan, Catbalogan City, Samar, is listed as Number 4 Regional Most Wanted Person in Eastern Visayas region.
As a backgrounder, on October 20, 2025 at around 2:20 AM in Brgy. 4, Catbalogan City, Samar, the accused- a butcher, while having a drinking spree with a male friend, the herein co-accused, allegedly punched and stabbed a male victim, fatally wounding the victim’s back and caused his instantaneous death.
The CIDG leadership commends PCol Felix G Gervacio Jr., the Regional Chief of CIDG Regional Field Unit 8, and the CIDG Western Samar Provincial Field Unit led by its Provincial Officer- PMaj Emiliano M Camama for capturing the accused, just six days after the issuance of the arrest warrant. The prompt arrest underscores the commitment of the CIDG in helping all the victims and families attain the justice they deserved.
