THE Criminal Investigation and Detection Group implemented the Oplan “Paglalansag Omega,” which resulted in the arrest of an individual in Brgy. Mayamot, Antipolo City, Rizal, on December 19, 2024, from around 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Agents of the CIDG Rizal Provincial Field Unit, together with the local PNP unit, implemented a search warrant for violation of R.A. 10591 (The Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Act) issued by Hon. Agripino R. Bravo, Executive Judge, RTC, Fourth Judicial Region, Lucena City, dated December 17, 2024, against a 54-year-old a.k.a. “Bong,” resulting in his arrest.
During the operation, the following pieces of evidence were confiscated from his possession: one Colt caliber 5.56mm rifle, one Thompson caliber .45 pistol, one Colt caliber .45 pistol, one Metrillo caliber .40 pistol, one 9mm Glock pistol, one Rock Island caliber .22 rifle with a scope, one converted caliber .22 rifle, assorted magazines, and a significant quantity of live ammunition.
Additionally, items discovered in the attic, subject to a separate search warrant, included two Dillon Precision reloading machines for ammunition, one compressor, two polishing tumblers, and various reloading materials such as smokeless gunpowder, cartridge cases, bullet heads for calibers .40, .45, and 9mm, and primers.
The conduct of the said operation was witnessed by a local barangay official. Meanwhile, the arrested suspect and confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the CIDG Rizal PFU for documentation and proper disposition.
PBGEN TORRE emphasizes that the CIDG will not tire of suppressing loose firearms that can be used in illegal activities, especially during the upcoming holiday season. “The CIDG is committed to upholding the rule of law and remains prepared to serve our citizens,” the CIDG top cop added.
