THE Commission on Elections (COMELEC) formally inked a contract with the Joint Venture of SMS Global Technologies Inc. and Sequent Tech Inc. for the Online Voting and Counting System (OVCS) for Overseas Voting in the 2025 National and Local Elections (NLE).
Under the contract, the Joint Venture of SMS Global Technologies Inc. and Sequent Tech Inc. is obliged to provide an Internet Voting tool for the 2025 NLE.
A thorough demonstration of the Internet Voting process was held right after the ceremonial contract signing.
Through Internet Voting, registered Filipino overseas voters can cast their vote by simply using a smartphone, laptop, tablet, or any other gadget that can access the internet and has a browser during the overseas voting period for the 2025 NLE or from 13 April 2025 to 12 May 2025.
