
THE groundbreaking ceremony for a new multi-purpose 5-storey building for the Department of Health (DOH) – Ilocos Center for Health Development was led today by Senator Imee Marcos, together with officials of the health department and local governments of La Union.
The multi-purpose building, located inside the regional office’s compound in Brgy. Parian, San Fernando City, La Union will have a total building area of 3,337.95 sq.m. (567.59 sq.m./flr). It will be scheduled for completion next year.
It will be composed of a main lobby and parking area on the ground floor and a regional director’s office and open type offices on the second floor. A conference room will be located on the third floor and other open type offices will occupy the fourth and fifth floors. It also includes a covered roof deck.
Regional Director Paula Paz M. Sydiongco extended her gratitude to all who made the project possible. “To Senator Imee Marcos’ whose unwavering support and vision for an advance healthcare system, we are deeply and humbly grateful for making this project a reality.”
“This soon to rise building will be a symbol of our collective commitment in advancing healthcare services, fostering innovation and improving and guaranteeing access towards healthcare for all,” she emphasized.
The multi-purpose building will be equipped with the amenities and facilities necessary to support and guarantee efficient health service delivery for the public and will offer more areas for our dedicated employees to deliver exceptional services for visitors and clients.
Funding for the building was sourced from the 2024 General Appropriations Act (GAA) with a total cost of P136 million pesos. A total of P100 million pesos was released this year to start the phase 1 of the project.
