THE Food Innovators RIC of San Antonio, Quezon (FIRICSAQ) received funding from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) CALABARZON to upgrade their process and products of suman sa lihiya.
A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed between Ms. Maria Esperanza E. Jawili, Provincial Director of DOST Quezon and Ms. Angela Lumar, President of FIRICSAQ at Lucena City, June 3, 2024.

The approval of the project entitled “Upgrading of Processes and Product of Food Innovators RIC of San Antonio, Quezon Through Acquisition of S&T Processing Equipment”, grants financial assistance to the association enabling them to purchase science and technology equipment to upgrade their process and products.
With the help of Local Government Unit (LGU) San Antonio, FIRICSAQ is expected to make an acquisition within one year of project implementation once funds are received. Aldwin T. Royena, Science Research Specialist II, facilitated the briefing about the project terms and conditions under the DOST Grant-In-Aid Community Based Project (GIA-CBP). DOST GIA-CBP is designed to fund relevant S&T undertakings that will improve Philippine-based projects, and the quality of Filipino lives by generating appropriate technologies.
