First lady graces Hrep trade fair

THE House of Representatives (HRep) led by Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez and the Congressional Spouses Foundation (CSFI) chaired by Tingog Party-list Rep. Yedda Marie Romualdez on Monday welcomed to the HRep First Lady Louise “Liza” Araneta Marcos for the launching of the Pangkabuhayan National Livelihood Trade Fair 2023.
The Pangkabuhayan Trade Fair is a project of the Congressional Spouses Foundation Inc. (CSFI).
Showing support for the country’s small and medium entrepreneurs and their products, the First Lady visited the 60 booths showcasing local products in the trade fair, even chatting briefly with exhibitors. Featured products include modern Filipina fashion, fabric and accessories, natural woven bags made from abaca, seagrass, pandan and water lily, traditional wares and handicrafts, furniture, beautiful art, recycled wood home accessories, and a delectable spread of ready to eat delicacies, as well as dried, fresh produce, and numerous special food items.
CSFI President and former Deputy Speaker Rose Marie “Baby” Arenas thanked CSFI members for their “active participation in the Kabuhayan 2023, and for ensuring that we can offer the best products from each province.”
CSFI Chairperson and HRep Committee on Public Accounts Chairperson Rep. Yedda Marie Romualdez was elated by the participation of CSFI members in the project, adding that the project seeks to “raise a significant amount to make a difference in the lives of uniformed personnel who tirelessly and selflessly serve our country for peace and security.” The CSFI hopes to use the proceeds from its Pangkabuhayan fundraising trade fair to upgrade the facilities of and make the necessary repairs and renovations in the wards of government medical facilities, particularly, but not limited to, hospitals for the enlisted members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
The First Lady led the ribbon-cutting ceremony to open the trade fair at the North Wing Lobby, which will run until November 23, 2023.
