
A FEMALE graduating student on Tuesday was robbed and murdered in her rented room in a dormitory in Dasmariñas City, Cavite.
Victim Queen Leanne M. Daguinsin, a graduating Computer Science student of Dela Salle University- Dasmariñas, and a native of Bulilanzur, Pila, Laguna, succumbed to 14 stab wounds.
Daguinsin was found dead in her rented room at Rolisa Dormitory located in Bgy. Santa Fe, Dasmarinas City.
The caretaker of the Rolisa Dormitory told probers that the victim’s classmates were looking for Daguinsin after she failed to attend their class.
The landlady of the dormitory ordered her caretaker to force open the victim’s room at 4:40 p.m. on Tuesday. Daguinsin’s room was double locked, according to police.
Probers said when the door was opened, the victim was found bloodied, with a pillow on her face.
An autopsy report showed Daguinsin sustained 14 stab wounds — one in the neck, nine in the body, and four on the wrist and arm.
A check of the CCTV recordings in the area showed that at around 1 a.m. of Tuesday, the suspect scaled the rooftop of the nearby Aterrado Dormitory and went to the second floor of the Rolisa Dormitory where the victim’s room is located.
The suspect gained entry through the window of the victim’s room. He was seen on the CCTV casually leaving the building.
The suspect was wearing a blue t-shirt, black short pants, a black cap and a pair of white slippers.
The killing of Daguinsin shocked the DLSU-Dasma community. The school management said they are working closely with the authorities and the victim’s family to bring justice for Daguinsin.
Cavite Gov. Juanito Victor “Jonvic” C. Remulla offered a P300,000 reward for any information that would lead to the capture of the killer of Daguinsin.
Cavite police chief Col. Christopher Olazo expressed optimism that the bounty will help them get the killer of the graduating DLSU-Dasma student.
The Cavite top cop said that any information that would lead to the arrest of the suspect may be forwarded thru telephone numbers 0998-598-5587 and 0998-967-3350.
