LEADERS of the House of Representatives on Thursday expressed satisfaction with the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey, which reported a 54 percent majority-level public satisfaction rating for the chamber.
“We are happy with this result, which we attribute to the effective, strong, and compassionate leadership of our Speaker, Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez, and his unwavering support for President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.,” said Senior Deputy Speaker Aurelio “Dong” Gonzales Jr., Deputy Speaker David “Jay-Jay” Suarez, and Majority Leader Manuel Jose “Mannix” M. Dalipe in a joint statement.
According to Gonzales, the Speaker’s transformational leadership has driven significant legislative and oversight accomplishments aimed at improving the lives of Filipinos. “Speaker Romualdez has championed initiatives to lower the cost of rice, electricity, healthcare, and other essential services,” Gonzales added.
Suarez noted that the House’s active oversight efforts have contributed to the recent decline in rice prices. “We are also committed to reducing electricity costs and have already initiated measures to achieve this goal,” he said.
Meanwhile, Dalipe highlighted the House’s success in delivering all of President Marcos Jr.’s priority measures. “We have a 100-percent approval record. The President can rely on the House, under Speaker Romualdez’s leadership, to support his vision of improving the lives of every Filipino,” he said.
The SWS survey, conducted last month, revealed the following regional satisfaction ratings for the House: 57 percent in Balance of Luzon, 55 percent in the Visayas, 51 percent in Metro Manila, and 49 percent in Mindanao.
By age group, the House earned the highest satisfaction ratings of 58 percent among individuals aged 18-24 and 45-54, followed by 56 percent in the 35-44 bracket, 53 percent among those aged 55 and older, and 50 percent in the 25-34 group.
House leaders reaffirmed their commitment to legislative excellence and public service, vowing to continue initiatives that address the needs of the Filipino people.
