THE House of Representatives (HRep) on Wednesday entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA ) with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) on Wednesday to further enhance the capabilities and performance of HRep workforce.
Committee on Higher and Technical Education chairperson and Baguio City Rep. Mark Go welcomed the collaboration with TESDA, stating that upskilling and adopting a life learning stance, regardless of age, is crucial for continuously advancing in life.
HRep Secretary General Reginald Velasco, who signed the MOA on HRep’s behalf, credited Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez for the idea of collaborating with TESDA.

He said the Speaker told him “to find ways of increasing the fringe benefits of the (House) employees, congressional staff and everybody working in Congress, including their dependents.”
TESDA Director General Suharto Mangudadatu, a former member of the House, saw the collaboration as an opportunity for TESDA and the HRep to provide opportunities to the unemployed, underemployed, out-of-school youths, and to those belonging to the marginalized group in order to become productive and self-sufficient.
Also present during the MOA signing were Nueva Ecija Rep. Joseph Gilbert Violago, Mountain Province Rep. Maximo Dalog Jr., Cagayan de Oro City Rep. Lordan Suan, Quezon City Rep. Patrick Michael Vargas, Rizal Rep. Juan Fidel Felipe Nograles, Bukidnon Rep. Jonathan Keith Flores, South Cotabato Rep. Peter Miguel, 4PS Party-list Rep.
