AUTHORITIES on Thursday seized improvised weapons, cellular phones, cigarettes, and other contraband during a raid at the Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm (SPPF) in Oriental Mindoro.
The “Oplan Galugad” operation was conducted at the facility’s Building 1A and Building 2.
The seized items were turned over to the Property Custodian for safekeeping and proper disposition.
Inmates who violated prison rules and regulations will face administrative charges, which will be filed before the Board of Discipline.
Aside from the SPPF, the other Bureau of Corrections prison facilities are the Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm in Palawan, New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa, Correctional Institution for Women in Mandaluyong City; the Davao Prison and Penal Farm in Davao del Norte; San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm in Zamboanga City, and the Leyte Regional Prison in Southern Leyte.
