PRESIDENT Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has nothing but words of praise and gratitude for Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez, who marked his 60th birth anniversary on Tuesday, November 14.
At Speaker Romualdez’s birthday celebration in Taguig City on Monday night, the President commended the head of the 300-plus-strong House of Representatives for his “fine leadership,” emphasizing its crucial role in achieving common goals for the betterment of every Filipino’s life.
President Marcos also highlighted the importance of unity, recognizing collaboration challenges but underscoring its necessity for a better future.
“We have come to realize that there is very little we can achieve unless we work together. So, the House of Representatives, both Houses of Congress… they play a critical part in all our aspirations to make life better for every Filipino,” the President told the audience, which included leaders and members of different political parties in the House, along with some senators.
“And, I cannot finish without pointing out that this very strong message of support could not have been possible without the fine leadership of our Speaker, our birthday boy Speaker Martin Romualdez,” the Chief Executive added.
In response, Speaker Romualdez expressed gratitude to the President and First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos for attending as guests of honor at the intimate gathering organized by family, friends, and fellow legislators to celebrate the eve of his 60th birthday.
The Speaker emphasized his commitment to dedicating the remaining part of his life for the welfare of the nation and thanked those who have been part of his advocacy to improve the lives of Filipino families.
“Hindi ko makakalimutan ang pagdiriwang na ito kasama ang mga taong naging bahagi sa adhikain natin na mapabuti ang kalagayan ng bawat pamilyang Pilipino,” the Speaker said.
“Asahan po ninyo na ilalalaan ko ang natitirang bahagi ng buhay na ipinagkakaloob ng Maykapal para sa kapakanan ng bayan,” he concluded
