Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez praises all the government agencies participating in the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair (BPSF) Agency Summit 2024 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) Forum in Pasay City Monday (Aug. 19, 2024). In his opening remarks, he said the BPSF, a visionary initiative under the leadership of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., is a living embodiment of the collective dedication to bring government services directly to the people, ensuring that no one is left behind.
THE unity in purpose to bring government services closer to the people as instructed by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. and the desire to serve the most vulnerable sectors in Philippine society are two of the main driving factors that made the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair (BPSF) such a huge success.
This is the pronouncement made by Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez as national government agencies as well as the House of Representatives gear up to celebrate the successes of the service caravan, assess its strengths and points for improvement, and plan for a much more successful program at the BPSF Agency Summit being held at the PICC Forum in Pasay City from August 19 to 21.
Speaker Romualdez, the leader of the 300-plus members House of Representatives, lauded the national government agencies together with the organizers of the service caravan as the BPSF turns a year this month, with 21 successful visits to 17 of the country’s 18 regions.
“Your collective efforts have brought essential government services closer to the people as instructed by President Bongbong Marcos, ensuring that millions of Filipinos receive the services they deserve and the much-needed assistance, especially in vulnerable sectors,” the Speaker expressed.
“The BPSF has made a meaningful impact on communities across the country, delivering direct services that have improved lives in tangible ways. The billions of pesos in aid provided through this program reflect the scale of its reach and the importance of making government services accessible to all,” he added.
Speaker Romualdez said he hopes the Agency Summit, which will be attended by officials as high as undersecretaries, provides an opportunity to celebrate the hard work and collaboration that has made the BPSF a success.
“The coordination between and among agencies has allowed us to address the diverse needs of our people efficiently and swiftly. It also highlights the strength of our government when agencies work hand in hand for the common good,” he said.
“The success of the BPSF should inspire us to further improve and expand our services. By maintaining this level of collaboration and innovation, we can continue to uplift more lives and ensure that the government remains a proactive and reliable partner in the everyday challenges faced by our citizens,” Romualdez added.
According to House Deputy Secretary General Sofonias “Ponyong” P. Gabonada, one of the top officials of the BPSF, part of the objectives of the summit is to facilitate interagency cooperation and foster a conducive environment for national government agencies to collectively address multifaceted challenges and opportunities.
“We also aim to optimize our resource allocation capability during these BPSFs to ensure the maximum impact of the services and financial aid the service caravan provides to the people. As innovation is one of our pillars, we also hope to talk about best practices on how to improve on reaching our shared goals,” Gabonada said.
Aligning policies and strategies will also be one of the highlights of the summit, Gabonada added, to promote policy coherence, streamline regulatory frameworks, and align sectoral strategies with overarching national development priorities.
“The BPSF has laid the groundwork for a more responsive and compassionate government. We have shown that by streamlining processes and prioritizing the needs of the people, we can provide real, tangible results that uplift our fellow Filipinos,” Gabonada said.
