Guest of Honor and Undersecretary for Universal Health Care (UHC) Health Services Cluster for Northern and Central Luzon Maria Rosario S. Vergeire lowers the time capsule for the Anda Super Health Center to formally start of the construction of the facility.
THE Department of Health (DOH) – Ilocos Region led the groundbreaking ceremony of the Super Health Center in Anda, the only island town of the province of Pangasinan, on August 19, 2024, to officially start the construction of the facility.
Undersecretary for Universal Health Care (UHC) Health Services Cluster for Northern and Central Luzon Maria Rosario S. Vergeire, who was also the guest of honor, lauded Anda LGU for its continuing commitment to improving the health of its constituents.
“Marami pa po sa ating mga kababayan ang hindi pa rin nakakatanggap ng kinakailangan nilang serbisyong pangkalusugan at anim sa bawat sampung Pilipino ang hindi nakakapagpagamot at tuluyang namamatay sa kanilang karamdaman at isang dahilan ay malayo ang kanilang lugar sa mga pagamutan.” she stated
“With this super health center, we hope that all residents of the municipality of Anda will be given the health services they need, once it is in operation.”
The Anda Super Health Center has a project cost of ₱10 million for its Phase 1 project and is funded under the HFEP – GAA 2024.
Regional Director Paula Paz M. Sydiongco added that super health center will provide basic health care services and accommodate patients needing minor surgical procedures and diagnostic health care.
“Mayroon itong pangunahing serbisyong medikal na outpatient clinic at consultation. Kasama dito ang pharmacy and dispensary, clinical microscopy, microbiology/parasitology, radiology, birthing ang lying-in, primary clinical laboratory. Mayroon din itong tuberculosis consultation with direct sputum smear processing at microscopy capability upang dito pa lang sa pasilidad na ito ay maibibigay na ang kinakailangang serbisyo ng isang pasyente,” she emphasized.
The ceremony was held at Anda Rural Health Unit and was also attended by Mr. Leo Palo III – Media Relations Officer and representative of Senator Christopher Lawrence T. Go, 1st District Board Member Apolonia Apple Bacay who represented Governor Ramon Mon-Mon Guico III, Pangasinan Provincial DOH Health Team Leader Veronica De Guzman and DPWH Assistant District Engr. June Miguel V. Ramuelta, Sr., and Anda LGU officials led by Mayor Joganie Rarang.
