
ONE of the six armed men who robbed the customers and personnel of a restaurant in Imus City, Cavite was arrested in his residence in Pasay City.
A report submitted to Police Regional Office 4A (Calabarzon) Director Brig. Gen. Carlito Gaces by Cavite police director Col. Christopher F. Olazo identified the arrested suspect as Mel John Rutaguio, 34, who was nabbed in his house in M. dela Cruz St., Bgy.133, Pasay City.
According to Olazo, a review of CCTV footages at the scene of the robbery-holdup in Bgy. Anabu, Imus City past 11 p.m. Monday showed that the clothes worn by the suspect at the time of his arrest matched the clothes of one of the robbers.
The suspect and his five other cohorts robbed the customers and the cashier of the Samgyupamore Restaurant located along Aguinaldo Highway in Bgy. Anabu 1-D in Imus City.
Members of the Imus City Police Station conducted a backtracking and review of CCTV footages in the restaurant and its nearby establishments and managed to capture the plate number of one of the motorcycles used by the robbers.
The plate no. 540 UDM was found to be registered under the name of Rutaquio.
In coordination with the Pasay City Police Station, Imus City policemen led by Lt. Col. Jack Angog conducted the operation, which led to the arrest of Rutaquio
Authorities are hunting down the other robbers.
